Retreat snapshot 02: Glory and Gospel

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!

How Great Thou Art

Come, young and old from every land,
Men and women of the faith;
Come, those with full or empty hands,
Find the riches of His grace.

Over all the world His people sing,
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through every age:
“Our God is all in all!”

"Come, People of the Risen King"

All the earth will shout Your praise,
Our hearts will cry,
These bones will sing:
Great are You, Lord!

These are just a few of the lyrics we have sung in worship together today, and as we corporately declare truths about the global Kingdom I can't help but picture the wildly diverse ICC congregations all over Europe and western Asia that worship together week after week.

Praise God for the incredible uniting and mobilizing force of the Gospel, which transcends our cultural differences to unite our efforts in the Kingdom work of offering light and life into a dark and dying world.
