We believe that the gospel is not just for individual gain. We believe that Christ's sacrifice was not to ensure our personal comfort. We believe that the good news of Jesus has the power to radically change lives, change communities, change culture. We believe that "The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5).
Praise God for the incredible uniting and mobilizing force of the Gospel, which transcends our cultural differences to unite our efforts in the Kingdom work of offering light and life into a dark and dying world.
This morning we held a special joint worship service here on the grounds at Courmettes. In addition to the retreat guests and volunteers, we were joined by the two ICC congregations in the area, from Nice and St. Paul. Praise the Lord for his faithfulness in bringing us all together today, believers from all over the world, united not only by a common language, but a common Savior.
We are praying this will cause unity, not division. That racism would not gain a stronghold but that we as Christ's people would love all, including our enemies. That fear would not reign but our Lord would and we would not cloister in safety but walk in His security amongst those who need Him most.
